Mit dem ekelhaften Angriff auf das BiPoc-Hausprojekt Casa in der Nacht auf den 24. Oktober wurde eine rote Linie in der innerlinken Auseinandersetzung überschritten. In den letzten Jahren hatte dieser Ort immer wieder Angriffe zu befürchten. Einige von uns waren dort, als es die Unsicherheit gab, ob der Halle-Attentäter seinen Terror im Leipziger Westen fortsetzen könnte. Einige von uns waren dort als im Raum stand, dass Neonazis im Umfeld der Querdenken-Demo am 7.11.2020 den Ort bedrohen könnten. Was rassistische Terroristen und Militante nicht machten, vollzogen offenbar letztlich Menschen, die sich als antifaschistisch verstehen. Wenn das stimmt, ist damit ein Tiefpunkt antifaschistischer Ideologie und Praxis erreicht. Diesem widersprechen wir aufs Schärfste.

Wir solidarisieren uns mit dem Casa als Projekt und mit den Bewohner*innen. Dieser Angriff ist ein Angriff auf linke Strukturen und linke Debatten insgesamt. Wir sagen: Das Casa gehört zu unserer Nachbarschaft, es gehört in den Leipziger Westen, ein Angriff lässt sich durch nichts, was geschehen ist, rechtfertigen. Unter dem Vorwand, Antisemitismus zu bekämpfen, wurde auf rassistische Weise ein selbst-organisierter, nicht-weißer Raum angegriffen. Und das einzig, weil sich dort die ‚falschen‘ Gruppen treffen konnten. Ja, auch wir halten gerade im Kontext des jüngsten, unerträglichen Pogroms gegen Israelis die Toleranz und Verdrängung von Antisemitismus bei den sich dort treffenden ‚roten‘ Gruppen für inakzeptabel. Das mackerhafte und maskulinistische Auftreten einiger dieser Gruppen macht die Sache nicht besser. Gerade deswegen aber sind zerbrochene Scheiben, mit dem Ziel, Angst und Einschüchterung auszulösen, der völlig falsche Weg. Auch rechtfertigt nichts, von diesen Gruppen auf das Haus an sich und die Gesamtheit der Bewohner*innen zu schließen. Die Steine haben einen Wohnort getroffen, keine politische Meinung. Die hinter dieser Aktion stehende Homogenisierung ist eine (rassistische) Unterstellung, die schlicht den Bedarf eines Feindbildes anstelle einer konkreten Auseinandersetzung zeigt. Angegriffen wurden eben nicht diese Gruppen, sondern das Haus. Nachts an ihrem Wohnort bedroht wurden Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen und Haltungen, auch zum Nahost-Konflikt und zu Antisemitismus. Angegriffen wurde der Wohnort von Menschen, die in dieser Gesellschaft tagtäglich strukturellen und individuellen Rassismus erfahren.

Dieser Angriff war keine antifaschistische Notwehr und kein Selbstschutz. Er ist nicht mehr als das Eingeständnis, der Komplexität der derzeitigen Konflikte nicht mehr gewachsen zu sein – weder in der Praxis noch in der Theorie. Solche Taten und Begründungen haben im Antifaschismus nichts verloren. Wir lassen uns einen Antifaschismus nicht nehmen, der analytisch differenziert und menschlich empathisch ist. Denn die zerbrochenen Fensterscheiben repariert eine Versicherung. Was diese nicht repariert, sind die emotionalen Spuren der Bewohner*innen und die Narben der innerlinken Beziehungen in Leipzig.

Su casa es mi casa – We condemn the attack on the BiPoc house project in West Leipzig!

With the disgusting attack on the BiPoc house project Casa in the night of 24 October, a red line was crossed in the inner-left dispute. In recent years, this place has had to fear attacks time and again. Some of us were there when there was uncertainty about whether the Halle assassin could continue his terror in the west of Leipzig. Some of us were there when there was the possibility that neo-Nazis could threaten the place in the context of the Querdenken demonstration on 7.11.2020. What racist terrorists and militants didn’t do, apparently people who see themselves as anti-fascist finally did. If this is true, then a low point of anti-fascist ideology and practice has been reached. We strongly disagree with this.

We stand in solidarity with the Casa as a project and with its residents. This attack is an attack on left structures and left debates as a whole. We say: The Casa belongs to our neighbourhood, it belongs to the West of Leipzig, an attack cannot be justified by anything that has happened. Under the pretext of fighting anti-Semitism, a self-organised, non-white space was attacked in a racist way. And this was only because the ‚wrong‘ groups could meet there. Yes, we too find the tolerance and repression of anti-Semitism among the ‚red‘ groups meeting there unacceptable, especially in the context of the recent, intolerable pogrom against Israelis. The dominant and masculinist demeanour of some of these groups does not make matters better. Precisely for this reason, however, broken windows aimed at causing fear and intimidation are the completely wrong way to go. Nor does anything justify drawing conclusions from these groups about the house itself and the residents as a whole. The stones hit a place of residence, not a political opinion. The homogenisation behind this action is a (racist) insinuation that simply shows the need for an enemy image instead of a concrete confrontation. It was not these groups that were attacked, but the house. People with different experiences and attitudes, including to the Middle East conflict and anti-Semitism, were threatened at their homes at night. The place of residence was attacked by people who experience structural and individual racism in this society every day.

This attack was not anti-fascist self-defence or self-protection. It is no more than an admission that the actors are no longer able to cope with the complexity of the current conflicts – neither in practice nor in theory. Such acts and justifications have no place in anti-fascism. We will not let ourselves be deprived of an anti-fascism that is analytically differentiated and humanly empathetic. Because the broken windows will be repaired by an insurance company. What they don’t repair are the emotional traces of the residents and the scars of the inner-left relations in Leipzig.
